SAME SEX UNIONS IN MALAWI: State to parade one witness

The High Court, which is sitting as a Constitutional Court in Blantyre, will continue hearing the same sex law case this morning.

Today, the defence team led by Fostino Maele will re-examine their client in the case, Wim Akster

This is day two of a possible three day trial in a case where two individuals, Akster, a Dutch national and Jana Gonani who is a transgender from Mangochi, are asking the court to allow same sex marriages in the country.

At the moment, Malawi criminalizes same sex unions.

The state, according to Attorney General Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda, will parade one witness in court.-MBC ONLINE
