MCP STORMS CHITIPA: Bulldozer Chimwendo Banda says infrastructure key to development

…splashes K1 million to Chitipa United

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) National Youth Director, Richard Chimwendo Banda, says President Lazarus Chakwera’s administration considers infrastructure development as the driving force of the economy and that MCP is geared to take “Malawi to newer heights”.

Chimwendo Banda, who is also Minister of Local Government, Unity and Culture, was speaking today on Saturday at a development rally he addressed at Lufinya Primary School ground in Chitipa District

In his remarks, the Minister said MCP under president Chakwera realizes that infrastructure could play a pivotal role in bolstering the country’s economic growth hence it is imperative to make Chitipa- Nthalire- Rumphi road a priority.

“Chakwera’s government has in the past three years nurtured the roots of socioeconomic development by shaping an infrastructure architecture that is unparalleled because we believe that road network is the roadmap to transformation.

“We have taken off and soon you will see every sector of the economy is ticking because the leadership of this country believes in “serving people” by giving them basic needs such Affordable Input Program (AIP), venturing in irrigation and engineering, empowering women and youths through various initiatives such as Mtukupa pakhomo and loans among others,” said Chimwendo Banda

He also hailed Chitipa Football Club for its spirited performance in the TNM Super League after humbling Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, drawing with Nyasa Bullets and Silver Strikers today and yet the team has meager resources compared to three teams.

He later donated K1 million to the team as gesture to appreciate their hardworking in the Super League and making Chitipa district proud.

On politics, Chimwendo said MCP will win 2025 tripartite polls because of the good policies government has put in place.

  1. No sense, which road are you talking about. How many years have your Party been talking about this road and yet nothing is happening. You continue to cheat Malawians and the people of Rumphi and Chitipa in particular on this road why? Shame on you and the party you represent. I love this party but it has let the hearts of down. You continue to prosper at the expense of many poor Malawians who are ready to brave the sun and attend your cheat propaganda. God should have mercy on the lies you are making to innocent souls of Chitipa and Rumphi. Amen
