Malawi Congress Party (MCP) pressure group has asked President Lazarus Chakwera to admit that he goofed for allegedly appointing his friends and cronies in key State House positions.
The group further asked Chakwera not to wait for another embarrassment before acting; arguing State House needs a major shakeup or complete overhaul.
“The president has access luggage in his advisors, dead wood in cabinet and we need reshuffle now. We need MCP loyalists to advise our leader,” says the group spokesperson, Alex Major.
The group has also repeated its call for Chakwera to act on State House Director, Sean Kampondeni and Chief of Staff Prince Kapondamgaga whom it accuses of giving him misleading advice.
“We commend the president for diplomatically dismissing his press secretary Brian Banda who was another excess baggage at State House,” adds the statement.-Rainbow TV
