Malawi President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is today set present his nomination papers as Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and United Democratic Front (UDF) alliance presidential candidate for the forth-coming fresh presidential polls.
According to a statement from Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC), President Mutharika will submit his nomination papers at 3 O’clock in the afternoon at Mount Soche in Blantyre.
The Malawian leader, President Mutharika is also expected to unveil his runningmate during the presentation of the nomination papers.
Other candidates who are expected to submit their nominations today are Khwechani Wesuze Nkhoma and Phunziro Mvula both independent candidates.
Malawi will hold fresh presidential elections on 2 July 2020, according to Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) calendar.
