All set for Maranatha heroes party, where a 6 points Mtendere Sec School student will walk away with K1 million

At least 13 students who passed with flying colours in the 2022/2023 Malawi Schools Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations will be awarded during this year’s Maranatha Heroes Party prize presentation ceremony slated for August 31, 2023 at Bingu International Centre in Lilongwe.

Maranatha Academy Managing Director, Ernest Kaonga said the heroes party ’ award initiative event has been introduced to encourage students in Malawi to excel in education.

Kaonga disclosed that the institution has organized the function as a way of promoting quality education in the country which was one of government initiatives by President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and Her Excellency Madame Monica Chakwera.

“We will recognize and award boys and girls from both public and private secondary schools who emerged as most outstanding with an aggregate of six to 9 points in the 2022 MSCE examination results,” said Kaonga.

Kaonga said they would celebrate such a remarkable performance by preparing the brilliant students a banquet that intends to signify the appreciation of highest academic excellence in line with government’s vision of promoting quality education.

Kaonga said Maranatha will award, Vitumbiko Kaunda, from Mtendele secondary Sec with K1 million. Kaunda got 6 points.

Arnold Nyasulu,from Robert Laws Secondary will also be awarded having scored 7 points.

From Maranatha Boys, Praise Kabaghe and Hastings Kumwenda will also be awarded having scored 8 Maranatha Boys 8 points.

“We will also recognize 9 girls from public and private institutions who were outstanding having attained 9 points,”he said.

Kaonga also said they will invite all their students,who have been selected to various Public universities to thank them for their selection.

“We are also inviting our 342 students,who have been selected to public universities to join the party,”he said.

On another note, Kaonga said it was their wish to have the First Lady Madame Chakwera grace the occasion.

“Our first choice is to have the First Lady of the republic of Malawi because we feel she can inspire the students more. We are very grateful to the First Lady for doing her best in uplifting the standards of education in the country,” he said.
