Ecobank donates K5.1 million to Blantyre Police for CCTV project

Ecobank Malawi Limited has donated K5.1 million towards the Blantyre Police Station closed circuit television (CCTV) camera installation project.

The installation of CCTV project will enhance security in the city’s central business district.

Chief Financial Officer for the bank Fabiano Makolija said as a responsible corporate citizen, they felt duty-bound to assist in the implementation of the project.

“We are pleased to make this donation that will go a long way in enhancing security within our city.

“A safe and secure environment is always good for business, and as a responsible corporate citizen, we feel obliged to contribute to this noble cause,” said Makolija

On his part, Police Commissioner for South-west Region, Patrick Luhanga hailed the bank for the timely donation.

He said the donation will equip them with the right technology that will complement their policing efforts within the city.

Blantyre Police needs about K20 million ( Twenty Million Malawi Kwacha) for CCTV installation project.
