Malawi Government has promoted all Prison wardens across the country with immediate effect from today, Friday 24 April 2020.
Prison Services Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Chimwemwe Mike Shaba confirmed the development through a statement made available to Malawi Voice.
According to Superintendent Shaba, all warders have been promoted to sergeants, all sergeants to the rank of Sub Inspector while all Sub Inspectors to the rank of Inspector of Prisons.
In an interview with one of the prison wardens from Chichiri Prison in Blantyre who has been promoted from Sergeant to the rank of Sub Inspector has commended government for the promotion and improving their working condition.
