As one way of preventing the spread of HIV and other Sexual Transmitted Infections (STIs), the government of Malawi will soon start offering free contraceptives methods to learners in public primary and secondary schools from across the country.
The Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Francis Phiso disclosed the news recently in Dedza during an official engagement.
Phiso said his Ministry is currently engaging with officials from the Ministry of Education Science and Technology on the possibility of offering contraceptives such as Condoms to learners.
He said the initiative among others will help to end early pregnancies among school going girls.
