7 HOURS LATER: Bon Kalindo’s Anti-Chakwera Demos On Friday

Controversial Comedian-Cum Politician Bon ‘Winiko’ Kalindo has vowed to proceed with Anti-President Lazarus Chakwera’s Tonse Alliance administration demonstrations slated for Friday in Mzuzu city.

Kalindo, a former Director of Youth for UTM Party, made the remarks on Tuesday night after spending 7 hours in closed door meeting with senior cabinet ministers in Lilongwe.

According to Kalindo, government has failed to address some critical issues including prices of basic needs; saying they are not convinced with government responses.

“The demonstrations are on this coming Friday,” out-spoken Kalindo told the media on Tuesday in full-view of President Chakwera’s senior ministers.

However, Information Minister Gospel Kazako said they have tried to make the Kalindo to understand that some demands require further consultations including Value Added Tax on essential goods and services.

Other Ministers who attended the meeting include Minister of Civic Education and National Unity Timothy Mtambo, Minister of Homeland Security Richard Chimwendo Banda and Minister of Justice Titus Mvalo.
