Opposition Malawi Congress Party(MCP) presidential runningmate for the forth-coming elections Saulos Chilima on Saturday shunned the burial ceremony for Gogo Hairet Luhanga mother in law to Lazarus Chakwera.
The burial ceremony for late Gogo Luhanga, a biological mother to Chakwera wife’s Monica Nyagondwe took place today at Chitanga-Mwazisi area in Rumphi district.
While Reverend Chakwera was paying last respect to the mother-in-law, Chilima and senior UTM officials were busy castigating former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi at a campaign rally in Kasungu.
Meanwhile, Political and Social commentators in the country have condemned Chilima and his UTM party for shunning the burial ceremony.
The late Gogo Hairet Luhanga died on Thursday 14 of May 2020. May Her Soul Rest in Peace.
