Malawi Congress Party Member of Parliament for Lilongwe City South East Ulemu Msungama has apologised for his statement that disputed COVID-19 test results of some people from Kaliyeka.
Msungama was in the limelight on Friday when he came out openly disputing the COVID-19 test results which confirmed that ten people from his constituency tested positive. His sentiments were also trashed by Director of Chilinde 24 Hours Clinic Dr Josephy Msambathukuta who responded to Msungama’s facebook post to say 28 people were indeed tested and that all the staff at his clinic were advised to follow preventative measures including disinfecting the clinic which eventually humbled the parliamentarian.
Following his statement, there was tension at Kaliyeka and health workers vowed not to conduct more tests until the political leaders in the area assure them on their security.
A stakeholders’ meeting was convened on Saturday and Msungama has apologised for his actions and is expected to hold a press briefing to publicly apologise for his actions.
MP like him not loving his people and need to resign. He is there to represent people not carried out by this political mess which has engulfed Malawi at this particular period.
MEC nullify Parliamentary elections also so that sanity could be there.
