Covid-19 Cases Continue to Rise in Malawi

Malawi government through a Special Cabinet Committee on Coronavirus has confirmed another case of Covid-19 bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 13.

Minister of Health, Jappie Mhango, who is also the Chairperson for the special cabinet committee disclosed the development on Sunday during a press briefing held at Capital Hill in Lilongwe.

According to Minister Mhango, the new case is of a 55 year old Malawian man of Asian Origin from Blantyre.

Out of 13 confirmed covid-19 cases,  six are in the capital Lilongwe, five in Blantyre, one in Chikwawa and another one in Nkhotakota

COVID-19, which is now a global issue, was first discovered in December 2019 in Wuhan City in China and has since killed thousands of people across the globe including two people in Malawi.
