Mwase Impressed With Flames Preps

Malawi National Football Team, the Flames Head Coach Meck Mwase says he is impressed with the progress of the local based players’ non-residential training programme.

The training started two weeks ago in preparation for back to back 2021 AFCON qualifying matches against Burkina Faso next month.

Speaking after Wednesday’s session at the Kamuzu Stadium, Mwase said the pogramme is being executed according to plan and the boys will be in good shape in time for the residential camping later this month.

“Everything is going on very well as we had planned in all the three regions. We are focusing on endurance fitness and the boys are coping up. They are doing great and we are happy that they are working very hard,” he said

Mwase also commended the performance of the boys who have just been called for training.

“We are happy with the performance and levels of fitness of the new boys. We have just added another player Paul Ndhlovu from Mafco who is training with the Central Region-based players”, said Mwase.

Malawi will play Burkina Faso away in Ouagadougou on March 28 before hosting their opponents at the Kamuzu Stadium three days later.
