The Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI), has noted with disappointment, the futile attempt by the Tonse Alliance government, to divert people’s attention from President Chakwera’s sponsored trip to a wedding in the United Kingdom.
CDEDI has noted that government is busy justifying the MK238 million expenditure for the 2021 Independence Day celebrations, and yet the authorities are tongue tied on the London Trip.
CDEDI still maintains its stand, that the taxpayers, who also double as voters, should not sponsor Dr. Chakwera and his family to attend a wedding in London.
President Chakwera should, therefore, either cancel the trip to London, or take everyone who will show up at the Kamuzu International Airport on Sunday, 25th July, to the wedding celebration in the UK.
