LAZALO SAKUCHUKA PAMALO: Chakwera poised to win again in 2025-declares Bulldozer Chimwendo Banda

If opposition parties were thinking of snatching power from President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera and MCP in 2025, they better forget as MCP through its National Youth Director, Richard Chimwendo Banda has defiantly announced that Chakwera has “no challenger’ in 2025 polls based on what he accomplished within 3 years of his leadership.

Chimwendo was speaking today at Chilobwe Primary School in Blantyre where the party organized a development rally.

“Chakwera is going nowhere. Forget about coming into power soon. We are MCP and we know how to win elections. We are again the landlord from 2025,” declarers bulldozer Chimwendo Banda who is also Minister of Local Government, Unity and Culture.

Mammoth Crowd

This news is likely to have a devastating blow to UTM who were hoping that State Vice President Dr Saulosi Klaus Chilma will take over from Chakwera in 2025 as per their ‘agreement’.

Last year Chilima announced that their agreement with President Chakwera was that after one term Chakwera will pave way for him, a thing that MCP disagrees with that there is no such testament in their records.

“President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has tried to fulfill some of his campaign promises such as mtukula pakhomo, youth loans, construction of police houses, roads infrastructure amidst several economic challenges due to cyclones, COVID-19 and Ukraine war,” said Chimwendo Banda who is also Leader of Government Business in Parliament.

Chimwendo also announced that the Chilobwe road will be constructed soon which is currently in bad shape.

At the rally, Traditional Authority Chilobwe asked the Minister of Homeland Security Dr Ken Zikhale Ngoma to stand in his area, Blantyre City South Constituency as Member of Parliament.

Zikhale is likely to face huge mountain to win over current Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) MP, Noel Lipipa. He is also likely to face Punjabi Kalua of UTM also known as Fredokiss.

So far political temperatures have started rising with AFORD, DPP, UDF and MCP pitching their campaign ahead of 2025 tripartite polls which political analysts believe will be very difficult to predict the winner on presidential level with 50+1 rule in place.

Several cabinet ministers graced the rally which included Minister of Water and Sanitation, Abida Mia, Minister of Information and Digitisation, Moses Nkukuyu among others
