In a bid to transform the lives of constituents in Mulanje Central, Rhoda Gadama Misomali, the shadow Member of Parliament for the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), has launched a comprehensive development agenda ahead of the 2025 elections.
Gadama-Misomali, a native of Sitolo village in Mulanje Central, has outlined five key pillars that will guide her campaign and subsequent governance approach. These include:
- Skills development:
Empowering women and youth through skills training. - Education for all
Fostering a reading culture, and promoting adult literacy among other initiatives. - Financial Independence: Implementing small loan schemes, pass-on projects, and self-help support groups to boost economic empowerment.
- Food Security: Ensuring timely availability of fertilizers and improved seeds, as well as promoting innovative farming practices.
- Road Network and Infrastructure Development: Building durable concrete bridges and improving road networks to enhance connectivity.
- Social Support: Improving school infrastructure, providing clean water, supporting the elderly, and advocating for teachers’ welfare.
Gadama-Misomali, who was raised and educated in Mulanje Central, expressed her gratitude to the community and pledged to reciprocate by bringing development to the area. She highlighted her understanding of the constituency’s needs and her commitment to addressing them.
“I know Mulanje Central like the back of my hand. I know what was there then, and what is there now. I am a modern person, and I want to improve the lives of our people,” she emphasized.
Gadama-Misomali’s campaign promises to focus on the needs of vulnerable groups, including women, youth, and the elderly. Her pro-poor development agenda has resonated with the constituents, who see her as a leader who understands their struggles and aspirations.
As the 2025 elections approach, Gadama-Misomali’s campaign is gaining momentum, with many predicting a resounding victory for the DPP shadow MP.
Gadama-Misomali holds a Masters Degree in Leadership and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Global Business and Leadership. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
Gadama-Misomali, is a former CEO and governance expert who has served as Board Chairperson in several government departments. She is also an entrepreneur.
