Tiwafikire Charity Foundation raises funds for needy students

Blantyre, April 9 Mana: Tiwafikire Charity Foundation in partnership Malawi University Business Applied Science(MUBAS) students on Saturday held a fundraising Big walk in Blantyre to raise K15 Million to help 700 needy students from the institution.

In an interview with Malawi News Agency after the big walk, Managing Director for Tiwafikire Charity Foundation Amon Banda said that they decided to have the fundraising big walk to help student from MUBAS, as more students were on the verge of withdrawing from the university due to financial problems. 

  “We thought of holding this big walk to help MUBAS students, because most students are struggling   to get funds for fees, food and accommodation.

“We are therefore urging Malawians to support university students, as a lot of students studying in various public universities face financial problems which make them withdraw from the university,” Banda said.

President for Malawi University of   Business Applied Science Wyson Vinthenga said some  students were on the verge of withdrawing from the university due to financial problems.

‘’We   have asked different stakeholders to assist us raising funds through Tiwafikire Charity Foundation and we have faith that we will raise the required amount to assist these needy students.

‘’We hope that this fundraising will help students who are struggling with school fees to pay their tuition fees, accommodation   and food,” he said.

Tiwafikire Charity Foundation  provides support to vulnerable, elderly and children and it started operating in 2021 and it is situated at Blantyre Naperi.
