RoundTable Blantyre 20, non-political, non-sectarian grouping of young men between the ages of 18 – 40, has donated various items amounting to K1.5 million to Courageous Kids Foundation which looks after orphans and vulnerable children in the city.

Presenting the items in Blantyre at the weekend, Chairman of RoundTable Blantyre 20 Charles Chibambo said they saw it necessary to support the Courageous Kids Foundation because of the selfless sustainable acts that Courageous (Musasa), Founder of the Foundation and  her team and other children at the centre have been involved in getting orphaned children off the streets of Malawi, educating and feeding them.

“We are aware that the donation cannot resolve all the issues they face, but having toured the facility we noted that there was a fundamental need to at least provide beds, mattresses, blankets and soap as part of our community service this winter, we believe this will help in creating a more conducive environment for their development,” said Chibambo.

Among the items that were donated include 8 bales of soya pieces, 2 big boxes of donna’s eggs, 2 bags of corn flour, 15 beds with mattresses, 2 boxes of washing Powder Soap, 15 cartons of U-fresh soap, 1 big bale of blankets and 2 boxes of Body care lotion.

Chibambo thanked various organizations that supported them with the items namely Vamara Group, KEL Foods, Mijn Kitchen and the Kalaitzis family.

Courageous kids were all smiles after receiving the donation

Founder of Courageous Kids Foundation Courageous Musasa thanked RoundTable Blantyre 20 for the donation of the items saying it will go a long way in making the life of the orphans better.

“Your donations have made it possible for our kids to have proper beddings as we had no proper beddings. The donations have also made it possible for us to enhance the health of our children through feeding program. We are so lucky to have your support.”

“We are so grateful for your kindness, compassion and generosity towards Orphans and Vulnerable Children at our orphanage. As Community Orphan Care we do believe that you and us share a common goal, which is reaching out to the underprivileged. People like you make this place a better place,” said Musasa.
