Lilongwe, November 1, Mana: One of the recent produced Malawian movies, Sowing seeds is set to be premiered in Mzuzu City on December 5, 2021 at Grand Palace Hotel after being premiered for the first time on July 29, 2021 at Golden Peacock Hotel in Lilongwe.
In an exclusive interview with Malawi News Agency (Mana) In Lilongwe on Tuesday, Producer of the movie, Cathreen Mlenga confirmed that everything was in place for the movie to be premiered in Mzuzu city.
“Everything is set for the Mzuzu premier and we are very excited about it and looking forward to mingling with people from the north,” she said.
Asked why they thought it wise to premier the movie in Mzuzu, Mlenga said that Mzuzu City was being sidelined in as far as movie premiers are concerned in the country; hence they want people in the City to have an experience of movie premier.
“We have seen many premiers happening in cities of the country but not in Mzuzu, however like every city, Mzuzu has people who are interested in movies.
“With this reason we decided to take the premier of our movie to Mzuzu city as we want to satisfy the people who are movie lovers in the city so that they should have an experience of movie premier,” she said.
Mlenga urged Mzuzu fans to patronize the movie premier in their large numbers with their families and friends, saying that the movie premiere would be one of the big events that have never happened before in Mzuzu city.
“Mzuzu fans should expect a one of a kind red carpet event that has never happened before in Mzuzu city and the event will be an experience worthwhile to them.
“Therefore I am urging all the fans in Mzuzu to be on the lookout for the movie premier and I am asking them to patronize the event in their large numbers with their families as well as friends and enjoy the memorable moment together,” she explained.
The Producer said that, after premiering the movie in Mzuzu City, the movie premier would be taken to Blantyre and after that they would start selling copies of the movie.
Currently tickets for the movie premiere in Mzuzu are available at Grand Palace Hotel ranging with VIP couple tickets at K20, 000, VIP single ticket at K15, 000 as well as Standard couple ticket at K10, 000 and Standard single ticket at K7, 000.
According to Mlenga, those who would fail to purchase the tickets before the day of the event should not worry as more tickets would be sold at the door on the day of the event.
One of the Mzuzu based entertainment events organizers, Blessings Nyondo said that for a longtime people in Mzuzu City have been asking for movie screening events; hence many people in the City would be excited with the premier of the Sowing seeds movie.
“Mzuzu is mostly left behind when it comes to movie premiers and many people for couple of times have been asking for similar shows, therefore this time around I hope people in Mzuzu will be glad with the premier of Sowing seeds,” he said.
