After listening to Dr. John Tembo’s interview on Cruize 5 through YouTube, I now wholeheartedly agree with Ben Chiza Mkandawire that Hon. Tembo owes our country a memoir.
Tembo is the only politician alive who has been at the centre of our politics from the pre-independence struggle to the post-independence politics and government. He was at the centre of politics and government in the 30 years of MCP dictatorship. And he has been at the centre of politics in the past 20 years of democracy.
Only Tembo has a better idea about the political and governance developments and transitions of all the three epochs of our history – colonial, dictatorship and democracy.
Countrymen, is there no way we can force this man to write his experience? Cant we tell him that we will have him arrested if he does not write a memoir? Or cant we tell him that we will ask PAC to demonstrate against him if he does not comply? I mean he must write even if it means we have to hold a gun to his head until he finishes the book.
It is unfair and very selfish of him to one day depart with all that knowledge and experience.
One of the reasons we don’t know politics in our country is because great politicians are leaving us, one by one, with nothing to build on. We need inspiration from them but they keep denying us. Now look at the kind of politics young people do on Facebook and everywhere. They lack mentorship, political wisdom, and inspiration.
The political future of our country is dark. And people like Tembo are responsible for that.
JZU TEMBO MUST WRITE A MEMOIR NOW
