President Mutharika Visits, Comforts Muluzi Family

APM Condoles Muluzi

President Peter Mutharika this afternoon took his time to visit and condole the Muluzi and Malisita families on the
demise of Esmie Muluzi-Malisita at Naperi in Blantyre.

Esmie  was first born daughter to former President Bakili Muluzi and sister to Minister of Lands, Housing and Physical Planning, Atupele Muluzi and died on Monday after being struck by lightning at Mpemba in Blantyre.

And in his message, President Mutharika had this to say;

“The First Lady and I have learnt with deepest shock about the passing on of Mrs. Esmie Muluzi Malisita who died after being struck by a lightning while attending to farm chores yesterday. Those of us who interacted with the deceased will remember her as a polite and well-mannered woman who treated everyone with respect, love and consideration.

“Our condolences to the family of the deceased which includes her father former President Dr Bakili Muluzi and her brother who is also my cabinet minister Honourable Atupele Muluzi. Similarly, Gertrude and I also extend condolences to the family of Hazel Busile who just like her friend Mrs Malisita died from the same lightning strike.”
