President Mutharika Mourns RA Chief Jackson Gomani: He Was My Classmate At Mtambanyama Primary School

President Peter Mutharika has described late Jackson Gomani as a humorous and hardworking man who mixed with everyone irrespective of their social status.

The President said the late Gomani who until his death was chairperson of the Roads Authority board dedicated his life to serving the nation selflessly.

Prof. Mutharika who was grieved because of the passing of late Gomani, his friend and classmate, spoke through acting Secretary General of the Democratic Progressive Party-DPP Francis Mphepo.

According the Malawi leader, Jackson Gomani, who was a civil engineer by profession, was dedicated to making sure that everybody he comes into contact whether for work or leisure be left satisfied.

‘It is with a heavy heart that i bury a longtime friend; classmate and work colleague, late Jackson Gomani who i once went to primary school with at Ntambanyama,’ said Mutharika.

Late Gomani was born on 15th January, 1940 and went to school at Ntambanyama primary school, HHI Secondary School and later at Soche Hill Technical School. He later studied for a Degree in Engineering in Ottawa in Canada.

Late Gomani served as board member for Central Region Water Board, Tea Growers Association, Malawi Association of Spices and Herbs and he was chair for Roads Authority board at the time of his death.

He is survived by a wife Glenda and five children, Kumvana, Mahalha, Marsha, China and Mulhoteni.
