Dictatorial Malawi Congress Party (MCP) president Lazarus Chakwera faces 42 court cases from across the country. The 42 cases come from every individual and group that were suspended by Chakwera recently for challenging his dictatorial way of running the party.
Among those that were suspended were First Vice President and Speaker of Parliament Richard Msowoya, party Secretary General Gustave Kaliwo, spokesperson Jessie Kabwila, treasurer general Tony Kandiero and Deputy Secretary General Chatonda Kaunda. The people have since been retained in the party and their positions following a court order.
Every member that was suspended sued Chakwera and the party. The numerity of court cases expose the number of party members who were done injustice by Chakwera. The number also shows how far the MCP president and the party went in violating their own constitution.
Chakwera must brace up for tougher times as his team may be ruled the damaging costs to everyone they disgraced. Obviously, the costs will be in billions.
Judge Healey Potani has since warned Chakwera and his team to respect the court order or face contempt and get imprisoned.
Chakwera and his National Executive Committee has been raping their party constitution by among others, removing people who were duly elected at the convention from their positions and unconstitutionally replacing them. Most top brass of the party is not happy with Chakwera because they say he has clearly demonstrated that he is a dictator.
