The governing Mighty Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has warned electorates in the country against voting for the opposing Malawi Congress Party (MCP) in the forth coming presidential elections.
DPP’s Member of Parliament (MP) for Mchinji North East, Esther Majaza, who is also Deputy Minister for Irrigation and Water Development, made the call recently during a campaign rally in Nkhotakota.
Majaza said brutality is in MCP’s blood and challenged that the party will never change as evidenced by its latest conduct where it vandalized people`s property and killed a policeman in line of duty.
“MCP is a blood stained party, killing people and violence is in its blood and it will never change. Just lately, the party`s true colors became visible.
This party lost elections and then resorted to vandalizing property and killing Muslims. Make sure you do not vote for this party,” said Majaza.
Since the MCP lost the elections in the popular multiparty elections in 1994, the party has always come second in the subsequent.
Malawi will hold fresh presidential elections on 2 July 2020 and it is an open secret that MCP and its bedfellow UTM will lose again as per tradition.
