Atupele Muluzi Versus Saulos Chilima: A Choice Between Light & Darkness

On July 2, Malawians are choosing not just a President.  They are also choosing a potential future president of their country.

Malawians go to the polls to choose a cultured vice president who is respectful of others — his rivals; people lower than him, people higher than him, his elders and everyone — not a vice president who demeans everyone.

Malawians will choose a vice president who goes to rallies to speak about issues that unite Malawians and builds the nation — not a vice president whose agenda is always to attack and insult others.

Malawians will go to the polls to choose a vice president who has great humility — not one who puts himself on a pedestal and wants to be worshiped.

Malawians will go to the polls to choose a vice president who can be trusted and counted on by those around him — and not a vice president who makes everyone wary because of his own paranoia and obsession with evil plotting.

Malawians will go to the polls to choose a future in the hands of a sober personality — instead of a suspicious, drugged drunk.

  1. Malawians need to step back a bit and indeed compare the two running mates in order to come up with the right choice. A blind and wrong move will mean disaster for the country which will leave an indelible mark just like what MCP did during its reign.

One can easily tell who between the two is mature enough. One who doesn’t know that push-ups are suitable in a gym and not on the podium, one who goes to meet the public drunk, one who goes about in town chasing skirts, one who foul-mouths his fellow contenders, one who disappoints his followers by duping them, an untested leader politically; against a humble, mannered, upright, dignified/respected and down to earth person like Atupele.

For you to tell that Arafat Hamdan’s followers think and behave like him, I was listening to a conversation on the social media when a certain lost soul said Chakwera and Chilima are graduates from Chancellor college and Atupele is uneducated. I said, really? Well those are the discussions they hold within their midst. In all fairness, if you mix leadership/responsibility with childishness and naivety, the end result is what we are seeing in the other camp. He thinks garnering support from the youth is by talking as a Yoo yourself. If anything, all you are proving is nothing else other than your level of reasoning in society. The guy is a joke big time. Malawians should be careful come 2nd July 2020 to go for substance, proven leadership, long lasting development cautious leadership who has the people’s welfare at heart. Zinazi ndi maluwa chabe ndipo afota posachedwa.
