Ras Chikomeni Chirwa Versus MEC Case In Court On February 18

The High court in Blantyre has set February 18 for an inter-partes hearing on presidential aspirant Ras Chikomeni and David Chirwa’s demands.

Chirwa wants the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) to extend time for him to sort out shortfalls in his bid for presidential election.

Mec Chairperson, Justice Jane Ansah, rejected Chikomeni’s papers because he did not pay the K2 million nomination fee and get the required number of nominators from nine districts. Each presidential aspirant is required to get endorsement of at least 10 signatures from each district in the country.
