Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Blantyre branch has called on all people of goodwill to pray for Malawi saying the country cannot afford to be embroiled in violence in 2019.
Malawi goes to the polls on May 21 to elect ward councillors, Members of Parliament (MPs) and the State President.
Blantyre ECG resident pastor, Apostle Innocent Nyirenda, said at ECG they believe in patriotism hence the call for everyone to pray for the country.
Nyirenda said just like their spiritual father Prophet Shepherd Bushiri wishes the country well so they too.
“We can’t afford violence. We can’t. We believe God has a purpose for letting us have peace since we adopted multipartyism. We know God’s plans for this country are good and great ones, and we would like our faithful God to keep on blessing our country,” said Apostle Nyirenda, cementing with Jeremiah 29:11.
He added: “We celebrated our crossover night under the theme of ‘Open Doors’. We are on our knees before God so that He can open doors for this country. Be it social, political and economic. It is our prayer that Malawi grows from strength to strength.”
Thousands of ECG faithful attended the crossover night in Blantyre at Malawi Post Corporation Conference Centre (MPCCC) where, again, miracles, deliverances and healings were recorded.
