carsbergCarlsberg Malawi has said it will close shops in the next 18 months if the ever rising cost of taxes is not tamed.

Carlsberg Malawi Chief Executive Officer Abel Chanje said the company is the most heavily taxed in the country.

“For instance, in 2012 alone, we remitted K11 billion in taxes alone and this year we expect to pay not less than K15 billion.

“This is really burdening the company and if nothing is done, we are going to shut down in the next 18 months,” said Chanje.

IF BINGU WAS STILL ALIVE WITH HIS HEADLESS ECONOMIC POLICIES INCLUDING THE ZERO DEFICIT BUDGET THEN COMPANIES SUCH AS CARLSBERG COULD HAVE CLOSED LONG TIME AGO.

LETS US NOT FORGET THAT LEVER BROTHERS ALREADY DID AND THANKS TO AMAYI IMF LED ECONOMIC POLICIES LEVER BROTHERS IS BACK INTO PRODUCTION IN MALAWI.

THIS IS WHY WHEN SOME OF YOU OVERPRAISE YOUR DEAD TRIBEMAN WHO LEFT THE MALAWI ECONOMY ON THE DEATH BED,WE ROUGH AT HOW LOMWELISED YOUR THINKING CAN BE.

It gonna be shame for the big company like this close the business bcoz of tax, where is ERP? I thought stupid Kunkulyu and his mother has been going around telling pipo that economry is in truck? What stupid thing is that? The faillires, can you now open your stinking mouth and tell us what is the meaning of this, do you how many pipo this company employed? If they close today how many pipo will be jobless? Is that you said now chuma chadziko chikuyenda bwino, you stupid pipo of PP you have to wake up and do something before this thing happen, otherwise you will pay with your life, stupid government

  5. I thought the economy was on the right track so why are big and old companies like Carlsberg intending to close? This is food for thought for politicians who are day-in-day-out preaching good news about economic recovery when things are continuing falling apart in Malawi economic circles. Of late outspoken supporters of the ERP are now hiding and can not say anything about the progress of the ERP. Where are the Kaferapanjiras? You can lie but statistics will catch you when you least expected them. The Carlsberg matter is serious and an eye opener to the current managers of this administration otherwise do not call this a Bingu making but call it our making!
