Circumcised Men On Sex Spree “ They Think They are Immune To HIV”

Medical Male Circumcision In Progress

Some circumcised men in Mangochi have gone on a sex rampage whilst claiming that they are immune to HIV.

Apparently the circumcised men have been misinformed on the effectiveness of male circumcision and reduction of HIV transmission.

According Dickens Mahwayo of Given Secrets Consultants he bemoaned misinformation surrounding Male circumcision in reducing the HIV transmission.

Mahwayo said this on Saturday at this years College Of Medicine (COM) research and dissemination conference.

He said most circumcised men in the district think they are licensed to chase every skirt they see on the street.

“ What is most saddening is that most circumcised men n now engaging in unprotected sex, claiming they are immune to HIV” he said

He said 74 percent of circumcised men interviewed no longer practice safe sex.

And Only 42 percent of sex workers only demand their partners to use condoms when they are no circumcised.

“ in fact circumcised men are now charged peanuts for sex compared with uncircumcised men” he said

But nevertheless there is compelling evidence that male circumcision reduces the spread of HIV by 60 percent.

College of Medicine organizes an annual research and dissemination conferences, which are forums to keep the public, scientist and policy makers, informed about current research activities.

International doctors’ organizations condemn the AAP’s August 27, 2012 stance on circumcision! Happy Anniversary!

Since it is the anniversary of the AAP’s statement on circumcision (the AAP’s statement was made on August 27, 2012), it might be worth it to do a news story about the condemnation of the AAP’s statement on infant male circumcision by 38 doctors representing various international medical associations. This is groundbreaking and historic. Why? When was the last time you have heard of so many doctors and their organizations condemning another doctors’ organization?

I am including a reference to the American Academy of Pediatrics own journal which presents the international condemnation of the AAP:

(I tried posting this yesterday with supporting links, but it didn’t go through, so I’m posting again without the links. Sorry if it appears twice.)

    From a USAID report:
“There appears no clear pattern of association between male circumcision and HIV prevalence—in 8 of 18 countries with data, HIV prevalence is lower among circumcised men, while in the remaining 10 countries it is higher.”

It seems highly unrealistic to expect that there will be no risk compensation. The South African National Communication Survey on HIV/AIDS, 2009 found that 15% of adults across age groups “believe that circumcised men do not need to use condoms”.

It is unclear if circumcised men are more likely to infect women. The only ever randomized controlled trial into male-to-female transmission showed a 54% higher rate in the group where the men had been circumcised.

ABC (Abstinence, Being faithful, and especially Condoms) is the way forward. Promoting genital surgery seems likely to cost African lives rather than save them.

The idea that circumcision reduces HIV risks by 60% is a garbage strategy and a greatly exaggerated number. If this were true then other countries like Europe where 80% of men are left intact would be eaten up with disease, yet they have less disease than the US where 80% of men are circumcised. Open your eyes everyone, circumcision will never cure the world of HIV. Safe sex, education and medicine are the answers to the problem. Stop hacking up your genitals, it isn’t working.

This was entirely to be expected – in fact many of us predicted it when circumcision was first suggested. How could men ever be convinced to undergo a painful and marking removal of (the best) part of their genitals without them thinking they could thow away their condoms? In 10 out of 18 countries, more of the circumcised men have HIV than the non-circumcised, and in one of them, Zimbabwe, this was the case both before and after a circumcision campaign. Circumcision as HIV prevention was always a recipe for disasster. Circumcision is a “cure” looking for a disease.

There is no misinformation here, just plain stupidity. Who in 2012 doesn’t know that HIV kills? Why worry about idiots. It’s natural selection, only the smartest survive. Time to cleanse the gene pool. Good riddance to useless rubbish!

Ndi mmene muthere. Mangochi Machinga Balaka Salima still remains the most highly HIV infected areas, what more evidence do you need that circumcision does not work.

Insanity encourages us to repeat the same mistakes over and over again and expecting to get different results.

Ministry of Health is failing to deliver and give right information about circumcision and AIDS, many people will get the virus in the name of circumcision
