Kinnah releases Flames professionals list; locals to be known by Friday.

Flames mentor Kinnah Phiri has released a 10 men professional players list ahead of the forthcoming African Cup of Nations qualifies game against Chad to be played in Ndjamena next weekend.

The squad is among other things missing a number of big names due to injuries and lack of game time at their respective clubs while other does not have a club to play.

Platinum Stars midfielder Robert Baggio Ng’ambi, Black Leopards defender Harry Nyirenda and Santos Defender Peter Mponda have been left out due to injuries while Essau Black Mamba Kanyenda has been given a chance to continue his trials with an Angolan Club which is currently on a pre-season tour in South Africa.

Former Swedish Striker Russel Mwafulirwa and Jimmy Zakazaka have also being left out.

But Phiri says Mponda can be considered if the results from doctors come out positive since he is just recovering from an injury he
sustained sometimes back.

The professional based players  Kinnah has entrusted to bring back 3 points from Chad are Mozambican based goalkeeper Simplex Nthala, Angolan based defender James Sangala, South African based, Chiukepo Msowoya, Atusaye Nyondo, Dave Banda, Limbikani Mzava, Moses Chavula, Tawonga Chimodzi, Peter Wadabwa and Athletico Madrid Reserve side striker Robin Ngalande.

According to a statement released by the football association of Malawi signed by the association Chief Executive Office Suzgo
Nyirenda, Flames coach Kinnah Phiri will release the names of locally based players to represent Malawi in Chad on 24th February.

Meanwhile, Kinnah has urged all Malawians not to panic as everything will be alright in Chad despite having massive injury list of some of the key players.

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Maestro Joseph Shakira Kamwendo, Silver Strikers midfielder Frank Banda, Mighty Wanderers defender Francis Mlimbika are among the notable names on the local scene currently in the squad.

Malawi will be looking for a revenge following an embarrassing 2-2 draw in last years African Cup of Nations qualifiers the moment Malawi needed to win to progress to the finals.

Chad scored the equalizer in the last minute of the added time.

In Malawi’s football,nothern is the only region that produces good players(am from Ntcheu by the way). Tikakumbuka nthawi yina m’mbuyomo out of eleven players inthe national team,seven or eight players anali a Bata Bullets. There was nothing wrong with that cause we knew kuti Bullets was the only team yimene yinali ndi osewera abwino.

    A Malawi lets 4 once stop looking at any issue with tribalistic eyes. from the names given, only 7 percent are tumbuka. msowaya and nyondo are Ngondes not tumbukas. zili zonse tumbuka. mulakho Lhomwe??
